Homework Expectations

Here are the expectations for homework in Year 4. Please read them carefully to ensure your child gets the most out of their assignments.

The 'What' and 'When'

  • When is homework set? Homework will be assigned every Friday.

  • When is it due? All homework must be returned to school by the following Wednesday. This allows the teachers enough time to mark and provide feedback on your child's work.

  • What will homework include? Homework will usually consist of one or more of the following:

    • Spellings: A new list of words to learn each week.

    • Times Tables: Practicing multiplication and division facts to improve speed and recall.

    • Maths: Reinforcing a concept taught in class that week.

    • Reading Comprehension: Using skills used in class to help children understand what they have read.

Our Expectations

We expect all students to take responsibility for their homework. This means:

  • Completing the work: Please ensure your child attempts every part of the homework task.

  • Presenting it neatly: Homework should be a source of pride. We expect work to be clear and well-presented.

  • Handing it in on time: Meeting the Wednesday deadline is crucial. It helps your child develop good habits and ensures their work can be marked efficiently.

Thank you for your support in helping your child succeed!
