Swimming

From Wednesday 21st February, year 5 children will be taking part in a weekly swimming lesson until Easter.

All sessions will take place on Wednesdays. All children will take part in the swimming lesson, which is ran by a qualified swimming instructor. School staff will supervise all children at all times.

Class 7 and 8 will go swimming on Wednesdays (starting 21st February)

Class 9 will go swimming on Thursdays (starting 22nd February)

Equipment needed:

  • A towel
  • Swimming hat – all children must have a swimming hat as these are available to buy from school (swimming hats cost £1.20 and all payments need to be made using Parent Pay).
  • Boys- swimming trunks or swim shorts- No big baggy Bermuda style shorts as they can weigh them down
  • Girls require a swimsuit- No bikinis
  • All jewellery (earrings to be removed before the session)
  • A bag for the items
  • A coat

If your child comes to school with their swimming kit on beneath their school uniform, please make sure they have their underwear in their bag to change into.

Swimming is a National Curriculum subject that all children are expected to take part in.

All jewellery must be removed at home and girls must have their hair neatly tied up.  Please let school know if there are any issues.
